At Overland 4WD Rentals, we have no restriction on where you can go. We provide safe, reliable and versatile vehicles to tackle all types of New Zealand terrain. While our vehicles are not new, they are well maintained, tidy and well suited to the type of work they do.
One-way hires by arrangement. As we are based in Christchurch, in the South Island, hires from other centres may incur a transfer fee - see Home page (lower right) for more details.
Features - radio/CD with Aux input for iPod/MP3, free snow chains, unlimited kms, free Christchurch pick up and drop off, free maps and guide books, free cleaning equipment for fishing gear, free 24hr AA roadside assistance, a range of optional extras also available (see our "Accessories" page).

Toyota Landcruiser Prado- 95S model Large 4WD
The 8 seater Prado is the go-anywhere vehicle of our fleet. With full time 4WD, the 3 litre intercooled turbo diesel engine has plenty of power while being very efficient on fuel. This Prado is well suited for off-road and high country tours, fishing, family holidays, camping and skiing trips. More information

Toyota Landcruiser Prado - 04S model Large 4WD
A newer version of the Prado, this 8 seater is dressed to impress with its leather seats and electric everything. A great cruising holiday and snow sports vehicle. Not recommended for off roading or high country trips due to its lower clearance height, but still brilliant for accessing back roads and sneaky fishing spots. More information.

Toyota Prado SWB (short wheel base) Mid-sized 4WD
3 door model of the ever-popular 95S Prado. Suitable for on and off-road travel. This nuggety little truck is our "big little 4WD". It will go anywhere that the 5 door model will go (and more). Will seat 5 people but you would need a roof box for storage. Ideally 2 people with the rear seats folded up to allow for plenty of luggage space. More information

Ford Escape- 2 litre Small 4WD
This mid-size 4WD has more luggage space and ground clearance than a RAV but without the off-road capability of a Prado. These 2001 - 2003 models are perfectly suited to general touring, camping, skiing and fishing with some back road (unsealed) travel. Maximum space for 5 people and gear. 2 litre petrol with all the mod cons including radio/CD with Aux input for iPod/MP3. More information.

Toyota RAV4 5 Door Small 4WD
The RAV4 has space for 5, however, 4 people is the ideal maximum. A good smaller vehicle for when high ground clearance is not needed. Perfect for the ski field or camping holidays. With a roof storage box or ski racks on top, you can carry plenty of extra gear.
The RAV4 is full time 4WD, automatic, 2.0 litre petrol with air-conditioning, CD radio with iPod/aux input. ABS braking and most have SRS airbags. More information.
