Self Guided, Tag-along and Fully Guided High Country Tours

We have a close working relationship with 3 independent companies providing self drive, tag-along/guided and self-guided tours through the stunning South Island high country. These tours operate over the Summer season from around mid-December to late April.

Our vehicles are insured for off-road use, with the extra insurance option fully covering all glass damage. We also provide a 'high country kit' free of charge which consists of basic recovery and fire prevention equipment required by these operators.

On these trips, you will travel through working high country sheep and cattle stations which are not normally accessible to the public, as well as remote and beautiful Conservation Estate land.

With river crossings, switchback tracks and rough station roads being common on your trip, it's important to have a real 4WD under you. The Toyota Prado 95 Series is highly recommended by operators of these tours as they have proven themselves to be extremely capable and dependable time and again.

If you don't feel up to driving the high country tracks but would still like the adventure, we have experienced drivers available to escort you.
